We spotted a cockroach hiding in the light fixture, while the carpet bore the unmistakable scent of animal urine. The heater didn't work, and missing wash cloths added to the overall feeling of neglect. On top of that, the common areas were in disarray, with rusted stairs and a lingering unpleasant smell haunting the hallways.
